SPEAKERS.
PACE Forum 2020 brought together national and international speakers with extensive experience in emergency medicine, global health, crisis management, and pandemic response. The invited experts shared clinical knowledge, service organization strategies, and lessons learned in managing medical emergencies within the context of the COVID-19 pandemic.
The presentations were distinguished by their practical approach and relevance to emerging health system challenges, addressing topics such as hospital and prehospital care, healthcare worker safety, innovation in care delivery models, and international cooperation. The diversity of professional backgrounds enriched academic exchange and strengthened collaborative networks focused on improving emergency medical response and global health.

Dra. Judith Tintinalli
MD, MS, FACEP. Leading Emergency Medicine Author, “Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine”
Dr. Tintinalli is a professor at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, where she is the founding chair of the Department of Emergency Medicine. She is also an adjunct professor in the Department of Health Policy and Management in the School of Public Health, as well as in Medical Journalism in the School of Journalism and Mass Communications. She acted as the founding president of the Council of Emergency Medicine Residency Directors. Currently, she is editor-in-chief of the world’s best-selling Emergency Medicine textbook, Tintinalli’s Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Robert E. Suter
DO, FACOEP, FACEP, FAAEM, FIFEM, General U.S. Army Reserve
Dr. Suter, a Professor of Emergency Medicine at UT Southwestern, is the current president for the American College of Osteopathic Emergency Physicians. He previously served as president of both the American College of Emergency Physicians and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine, as well as president of the Emergency Medicine Residents Association. Dr. Suter completed his residency training in Emergency Medicine at Brooke Army-Wilford Hall USAF Medical Centers in San Antonio, Texas.
Presently, Dr. Suter is a General in the U.S. Army Reserve and has a long history of service to Emergency Medicine on a state, national, and international level. He was the physician co-chair of the federal project, EMS Agenda for the Future. Dr. Suter’s awards are the highest in the field of Emergency Medicine.

Dr. Terrence Mulligan
DO, MPH, FIFEM, FACEP, FAAEM, FACOEP, FNVSHA, FFSEM, HPF
Terrence M. Mulligan DO, MPH, FIFEM, FACEP, FAAEM, FACOEP, FNVSHA, FFSEM, HPF** is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Maryland School of Medicine and was the Director of the University of Maryland International EM Program for 10 years. Prof Mulligan is also a Visiting Professor in China, South Africa, India and Ireland. He is a Board Member of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM), and the Vice President of the International Federation for Emergency Medicine (IFEM). Prof Mulligan is double-board certified / double-residency trained, with a Masters in Public Health, 4 subspecialty fellowships, and graduate work towards a Masters in Health Economics, Policy and Law. Dr Mulligan has lived and worked in over 50 countries in the last 20 years, working on multiple levels of emergency medicine, trauma and acute care systems development in low-, middle- and high-income countries. He is the recipient of multiple awards for excellence in EM and in EM education, has published over 150 peer-reviewed manuscripts, chapters, abstracts and other articles, and has delivered over 1000 lectures at conferences, symposia, courses and workshops in over 50 countries.

Dr. Camilo Gutierrez
MD, FACEP, FAAEM, FIFEM
Camilo E. Gutierrez is an internationally recognized Pediatric Emergency Physician, with a broad range of experience as a clinician, educator, and expert in international pediatric emergency care. Currently Associate Professor of Pediatrics and Emergency Medicine at George Washington University School of Medicine & Health Sciences to lead the Global Health initiatives of the Emergency Medicine Division at Children’s National Medical Center in Washington DC where he continues his clinical work in the Pediatric Emergency Department.
Dr. Gutierrez is a key opinion leader at the advisory level in the development of acute care systems at the local, country and regional level globally, with emphasis in development of pediatric acute and emergency care systems.
For the past 10 years, Camilo was Associate Physician in the Pediatric Emergency Division, education director for the clinical rotation of the Harvard & BU Boston Combined Residency Program in Pediatrics, liaison to Trauma and Boston EMS programs, and Pediatric Incident Commander for Boston University‘s affiliated hospital, Boston Medical Center. Was recognized by the Department of Public Health Commissioner for his tenure as Chair and Medical Director of the Emergency Medicine for Children’s Advisory Committee for Massachusetts, and by the Massachusetts Chapter of ACEP for his efforts to augment the care for children at the state level as Co-Chair of the MACEP Pediatric EM Section.
At the national level, he is current Chair-Elect for the American College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP) International EM Section, and active in the Ambassador Committee as Deputy for Colombia and Lead Ambassador for Costa Rica. He has also occupied leadership roles in the board of the Global Emergency Medicine Academy of the Society of Academic Emergency Medicine (SAEM), and through the American Academy of Emergency Medicine (AAEM) International Committee has been involved in collaborating with scientific committees in leading Pediatric EM topics and speakers for their international conferences.
At the international level he is Chair of the Pediatric Emergency Medicine Special Interest Group (PEMSIG) of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine (IFEM), and member of the Clinical Practice and Education and Curriculum Committees. He is Founder and Board Member of the first Latin American Pediatric EM Society (SLEPE) established in the fall of 2016.
Dr. Gutierrez is a recognized speaker both locally and in over a dozen countries where he has presented over 90 lectures in the last 10 years and has authored over 40 publications. His interests are education with an emphasis on International and Global Health areas, development of pediatric acute care systems, pediatric trauma and critical care in the ED, ultrasound, shock, difficult airway management and procedural sedation.

Dra. Ashley Bean
MD, MA, FACEP, FAAEM, FAWM, FIFEM
Dr. Bean is a Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. She is a member of the departmental Division of Ultrasound and Assistant Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. Further, she is the Associate Course Director for the Global Health and Service Honors Tract for Medical Students. In addition to leading medical service trips to Latin America, she is actively involved in international medicine though delivering emergency medicine lectures and workshops in countries spanning 5 continents. Dr. Bean has received the American Academy of Emergency Medicine Amin Kazzi International Emergency Medicine Leadership Award and has been recognized as a Fellow of four medical organizations: the American College of Emergency Physicians, the American Academy of Emergency Medicine and the Academy of Wilderness Medicine and the International Federation for Emergency Medicine. She is the current Chair of AAEM’s International Committee.

Dra. Lisa Moreno-Walton
MD, FAAEM, FIFEM
Dr. Lisa Moreno-Walton is Professor of Emergency Medicine at Louisiana State University’s Health Sciences Center. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the American Academy of Emergency Medicine. Her degrees include Doctor of Medicine as well as Master of Science in Clinical Research. She is a National Institutes of Health Research Scholar.
Dr. Lisa Moreno-Walton was the first woman and the first ethnic minority ever to be elected to the AAEM Executive Board.
At LSU, she serves as Director of Research, Director of Diversity, and Director of HIV Testing and holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Surgery at Tulane University. The recipient of several research grants, Dr. Moreno has completed over 250 national and international presentations, 40 journal publications, and six book chapters. Her research interests include HIV, violence prevention and treatment, diversity, and health care disparities.
She also worked on the task force that started the renowned Sexual Assault Response Team in New York City and served as the Associate Director of the Bronx division. She designed and administers a culturally-competent HIV prevention and testing program in New Orleans, which is endorsed by the CDC as a model program.
As a global health consultant and educator, Dr. Morena has served in over 25 countries to support the development of research, violence treatment and prevention, and the elimination of healthcare disparities.

Dr. Pedro L. Véliz Martínez

Véliz-Martínez is currently working in the National Council of Scientific Health Societies. Conducts research in Intensive Care and Emergencies, Health Sciences Education and Health Management. His current projects are professional competences of various medical specialties, neurolide Leadership, doctoral training in biomedical sciences and contribution of scient.

Dr. Haywood Hall
Emergency Medicine Specialist, Founder of PACE MD, Ashoka Fellow, Professor UNM and UNC
Dr. Haywood Hall is an Emergency Physician and an Ashoka Fellow. He completed both residencies in Internal Medicine and Emergency Medicine at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center and is a Fellow of the American College of Emergency Physicians and the American Academy of Emergency Medicine as well as a Fellow of the International Federation of Emergency Medicine, where he has served on various committees. He has chaired ACEP’s International Ambassador Program and is presently the ACEP Representative to Cuba and Mexico. He is an American College of Emergency Physicians “Hero of Emergency Medicine” and an IFEM Humanitarian Award recipient.
He is the founder and president of the PACEMD Program in Mexico and Latin America and has trained over 41,000 medical providers in lifesaving skills and certifications. Dr. Hall and his programs have won many recognitions and prizes for their Social Impact and are well recognized within the impact enterprise ecosystem. Dr. Hall has managed thousands of patients through telemedicine systems is an industry advisor to Telemedicine Magazine and is the Chief Medical Officer of My Telemedicine.

Dr. Darryl J. Macias
MD, FACEP, FAAEM, FAWM, DiMM
Dr. Darryl Macias has extensive experience working in limited-resource environments. After participating in expeditions to the Himalayas, he helped develop the International Mountain Medicine Center (IMMC). He is a co-founder of PACE in Mexico, and has worked in Latin America to help develop emergency medicine in Argentina and France. He was Chairman of the International Section, and has been recognized by ACEP with the "Augustine D'Orta" award, and the "Hero of Emergency Medicine" award. He currently hosts the popular "Wilderness and Environmental Medicine Live!" podcast.

Dr. Gerardo Ortega Martínez
MD, PACEMD Executive
Dr. Ortega is a Medical Doctor with a specialty in Public Health from the State of Mexico Autonomous University. He developed his career mainly in Public Health, holding positions ranging from Head of Sanitary Jurisdiction (States of Mexico and Guanajuato) to General Director of Health and Emergency Services (Health Ministry of Guanajuato State). Additionally, he served as General Director of Planning and Development, Director of the General Hospital of San Miguel de Allende, General Director of the High Specialty Regional Hospital of Bajío (PPS) Guanajuato, Secretary of Health of the State of Guanajuato, Secretary of the Secretary of Federal Health, General Director of Linkage and Development for the Projects of Service Provision (PPS) of the Federal Health Secretariat and member for two periods of the Governing Board of the High Specialty Regional Hospital of Tamaulipas.
He has collaborated in research and articles in the field of public health and participated in more than 80 courses, seminars, conferences and updates on health issues. He is currently Executive Director of PACE MD, advisor in management model, operation and medical management, opening of services and training of the PPS model, today APP.

Dr. Jesús Noguez

Dr. Noguez is a Senior Occupational and Environmental Medicine Resident for the Mexican Social Security Institute. He is the Occupational Health Executive Coordinator for PACEMD. AC. He is an American College of Occupational and Environmental Medicine (ACOEM), American Society of Safety Professionals (ASSP), Society of Occupational Medicine (SOM) and International Commission of Occupational Health (ICOH) member. He is the Occupational health Executive Coordinator for PACEMD. AC and is the Medical Director of the training department at the Mexican Red Cross Station in San Juan del Rio, Mexico. He is also a certified EMT and has more than 5 years of experience as certified instructor of multiple life support disciplines. He participated as speaker at the “Global Summit of Health Technology and Education” in Atlanta, GA in 2015; received the “ _Orgullo Uni_ ” Award for trajectory from the University of Celaya in 2016, and the “AMFEM-PFIZER Academic Excellence” Award in 2017, as well as
the ACOEM International Section Award at the American Occupational Health Congress in Anaheim CA in 2019 where he also participated as a speaker. He is currently advocating for the health and safety of EMS system professionals in Mexico conducting research and Non-profit projects with PACEMD.

Dr. Alejandro Rendón
Emergency specialist, Academic Director of the Mexican College of Emergency Medicine and Resuscitation
Physician specialized in Medical Surgical Emergencies assigned to the General Hospital of Zone No. 8 IMSS Mexico City. Currently he is the Manager of Teaching and Research of the Nuevo Sanatorio Durango Mexico City. He is also Academic Coordinator of the Mexican College of Emergency Medicine and Advanced Resuscitation.

Dr. Ricardo Cruz Silva
MD, Emergency Medicine, PACEMD Faculty
Dr. Ricardo Cruz Silva is an Emergency Medical-Surgical Specialist; he also earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Sciences. He has a Diploma in Hospital and Health Entities Administration from the Hospital Consortium of Catalonia. He serves as an AHA faculty member for the BLS and ACLS disciplines.
He served as Director of the Paramedic Career at the Universidad Tecnológica de Aguascalientes. He also served as a CENEVAL Technical Advisor.
Currently, he works as the Head of the Emergency Department at the Centenario Hospital Miguel Hidalgo in the Aguascalientes State. He also acts as Titular Professor of the Specialty of Surgical Medical Emergencies in Aguascalientes. He is an active member of the Committee of Certification of the Consejo Mexicano de Medicina de Urgencias.

Dra. Sigrid Nasser
MD, Emergency Medicine
Sigrid K Nasser was born in Leon, Guanajuato, Mexico and is a graduate of George Washington University’s Emergency Medicine (EM) Residency program. After majoring in English literature with a focus on philosophy from Boston University, she completed a Masters in Science at Georgetown University in Physiology, Biophysics and Complementary and Alternative Medicine prior to obtaining a medical degree from the University of Texas Medical Branch in Galveston. She has recently completed an advanced research methodology, evaluation, and design mini-post doctoral fellowship through the Society for Academic Emergency Medicine.
While in DC she had the opportunity of working at both the Pan American Health Organization’s Gender Ethnicity and Health section and National Institutes of Health. Throughout her training, Dr Nasser has gained additional proficiencies and publications in Global Health, POCUS, research, and education. Dr. Nasser is a member of the Academic Association of Emergency Physicians (AAEM), Society of Academic Emergency Physicians (SAEM), and Academic College of Emergency Physicians (ACEP). She currently serves as ACEP’s Deputy Ambassador to Mexico.
Ongoing projects include participation in an international partnership aimed at developing a tool to assess county and state-wide nuclear emergency preparedness, oversight of a study to determine POCUS’ ability to evaluate changes in intracranial pressure, content development for a disaster-focused EM curriculum in Malaysia in addition to content development and participation in a new UT Southwestern-initiated clinical virtual observational curriculum and platform for pre medical students. She hopes to continue to gain knowledge and experience in these fields through teaching, research, and the development of evidence-based standardized educational material generalizable to areas of scheduled and unscheduled healthcare.

Dr. Gregory Larkin
MD, MSPH, FAAEM, FACEP, FACEM, IDEM, Chair of EM on Public Health & Research Committees
Widely recognized as a leader in emergency medicine and injury control, Dr. Gregory Luke Larkin is the University of Auckland’s (New Zealand) inaugural Professor and Lion Foundation Chair of Emergency Medicine. Immediately prior to that, Dr. Larkin was also the inaugural Professor and Vice Chair of Emergency Medicine at the Yale University School of Medicine, USA. An advisor to ministries of health, public health organizations and academics in many parts of the world, Professor Larkin has trained emergency professionals and practiced in over a dozen countries. He served as an advisor for the Blair government while an Atlantic Fellow in Public Policy in Whitehall. Furthermore, Dr. Larkin has over two decades of frontline ED experience as a Board-certified clinician. He has advanced training in bioengineering, biostatistics, engineering and public health. Additionally, he has conducted international research and has been a prolific publisher of more than 200 scholarly papers.
Dr. Gregory Luke Larkin’s work has been published in the American Journal of Public Health, Toxicology, NEJM, JAMA, Consumer Policy Review, the Annals of Emergency Medicine, and the Cambridge Quarterly of Healthcare Ethics. Some of his most recent work includes studies on rapidly-acting antidepressants, the mental health causes and consequences of trauma, interpersonal violence, bio-informatics/health IT, and suicide prevention. He has been one of the first emergency physicians to define the link between regular ED visits and inadequate pain management, ED visits and partner violence, and ED visits and co-morbid mental health problems including suicide ideation, anxiety and depression.
In recent years, Dr. Gregory Luke Larkin was an on-the-ground advisor during disasters in Haiti, Iraq, Pakistan and Rwanda. He is a consultant to the National Center on Injury Prevention and Control at the CDC. He has also served as consultant to SAMHSA, NIMH and the World Health Organization on priority matters such as trauma, mental health and injury prevention.
Dr. Larkin has been a sought-after Visiting Professor in over twenty countries.

Dr. Paul Kivela
MD, MBA, FACEP
Paul Kivela, MD, MBA, FACEP, FAAEM is currently a Clinical Professor at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. He was President of the American College of Emergency Physicians from 2017-2018. As President of ACEP, he worked to improve emergency medicine and make it easier members to care for patients and developed solutions to improve the practice environment. He also worked to provide greater transparency of the specialty and the College. He was instrumental in developing ACEP's Until Help Arrives program and advancing ACEP's international efforts.
Previously, Dr. Kivela has worked as a managing partner of single hospital group in California for the past 20 years. Dr. Kivela currently also has several leadership positions including Principal of both the Medical Associates and Elan Medical where he advises individuals and product, pharma, software, healthcare, and employer organizations. As Medical Director of Medic Ambulance and VP of FailSafe Healthcare, he develops solutions to improve healthcare and decrease medical errors.

Dra. Larissa Velez
MD, FACEP, FAAEM
Dr. Velez obtained a Bachelor’s degree in Sciences from the University of Puerto Rico. She completed Medical School in 1996 and went on to pursue residency training in Emergency Medicine, also at the University of Puerto Rico. She moved to Dallas in 1999 in order to train in Toxicology. After finishing her fellowship training, she remained as full-time faculty at UT Southwestern. Her clinical work occurs at Parkland Health and Hospitals System, the busiest single-location emergency department in the nation. She also is a clinical toxicology staff at the North Texas Poison Center. In the past, she has also staffed the emergency department at Children’s Health Dallas.
Dr. Velez has served in a variety of roles for the EM Training Program, most recently completing an 8-year tenure as the Program Director. Currently, she is the Vice Chair for Education in the Department of Emergency Medicine. In this role, she helps with program strategy and oversight of the core program and its affiliated fellowship programs (3 ACGME and 4 TMB-accredited fellowships). In 2019, Dr. Velez assumed the role of Associate Dean for Graduate Medical Education. The office provides institutional sponsorship and oversight for over 180 training programs with a combined workforce of close to 1500 residents and fellows.

Dr. Mark Hauswald
MD, MS, FACEP
Dr. Hauswald is Professor of Emergency Medicine, Director of Global Heath Programs, Co-Director of the UNM – PAHO/WHO Collaborating Center on Innovative, Health Workers Education, Service and Research Models and Associate Dean for Clinical Affairs and Patient Safety-Emeritus (primarily responsible for clinical QI) at the University of New Mexico Health Sciences Center.
He is also the co-medical director of the PNG (Papua New Guinea) Tribal Foundation and Senior Editor for Global Emergency Care at the journal Academic Emergency Medicine. He has been a member of two NIH study groups and recipient of fifteen research or service grants.
Dr. Hauswald has published 67 peer reviewed papers in the medical literature plus 4 textbook chapters and 40 minor publications – primarily on emergency and prehospital care and including several studies on medical devices. For the last decade he has focused on global health emergencies and he has done research and published on disaster response, childbirth emergencies and international ethics.
Dr. Hauswald was a member of UNM’s research Institutional Review Board for seven years and has an insider’s knowledge of the research approval systems of both universities and the Federal Government. He has developed a second innovation that UNM is currently in process of patenting. He is also a trained disaster worker and member of the US Disaster Medical Assistance Team with experience in earthquake relief in both Haiti and Nepal. Dr. Hauswald took early retirement when Associate Dean in order to devote more time to product development and global health. He is now part time at UNM but still has access to all its facilities.
In 2018 he received a Recognizance Award from STC-UNM and was featured on their annual calendar as one of the University’s 12 noted inventors.

Dr. Justin Guy Meyers
DO, MPH, FACEP
Dr. Justin Myers is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Emergency Medicine at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, USA. He is the Director of the Global Emergency Medicine Fellowship and an Associate Director for the UNC Office of Global Health and Education, where he actively supports the global health learning experiences of medical students, residents and fellows. His research encompasses the areas of ED operations, epidemiology, medical education and implementation science. He is interested in research as a catalyst for Emergency Medicine development.

Jeff Solheim
MSN, RN, CEN
Jeff Solheim is a Registered Nurse from Portland Oregon. He has served as a staff nurse, charge nurse, nursing administrator, flight nurse, nursing educator and nurse entrepreneur in his career, mainly in the emergency and trauma setting. Jeff is also the founder and emeritus executive director of Project Helping Hands, a not-for-profit medical organization that deploys medical teams to underserviced areas of the world. Jeff speaks on a variety of motivational and clinical topics all over the world and has authored over 25 books on various emergency and trauma related topics.

Dra. Elizabeth DeVos
MD, MPH, FACEP
Dr. Elizabeth DeVos completed her Emergency Medicine residency at the University of Florida College of Medicine-Jacksonville and attended George Washington University to complete an International Emergency Medicine fellowship and a Master of Public Health. She is the Assistant Chair for Faculty Development and an Associate Professor in the UF College of Medicine-Jacksonville Department of Emergency Medicine. She also teaches global health and serves as the Director of Global Health Education at the University of Florida College of Medicine in Gainesville. She lived in Kigali, Rwanda as a technical director in the Columbia University sidHARTe program and continues to be active in EM specialist education and systems development. Dr. DeVos is the Chair of the ACEP Section on International Emergency Medicine and ACEP Ambassador to Paraguay. She is also Chair of the IFEM Specialty Implementation Committee and a Fellow of the International Order of the IFEM.

Dr. Adiel García Cuellar

Adiel Garcia is a Combat Paramedic graduated from the U.S. Army with missions in Germany, Bosnia and Texas. Adiel is a holds a Technical College Degree in Prehospital Medicine and Sonography; he also has a Bachelor Degree in health services and a Masters Degree in Education with a major in e-Learning. Currently, Adiel is an Associate Professor of the Paramedic Course Program at the Johnson County Community College; he is the Chief of the Integrated Education and Health Division and Commander in Chief of the Tactical Medical Team MED-ACT of the US Emergency Medical System. Adiel is the main author and editor of the manuals and courses Pit Crew Reanimation, Emergency Trauma Life Support, Special Tactics and Response, and Interpreting Electrocardiograms.

Dra. Viviana Martínez-Bianci

Dr. Viviana Martinez-Bianchi is a family doctor, fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians, Associate Professor and the Director for Health Equity at Duke University's Department of Family Medicine and Community Health. She is Executive Member -at- Large of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) and WONCA liaison to the World Health Organization, and chair of the Organizational Equity commitee.
She is founder and co-director of LATIN-19, the Latinx Advocacy Team and Interdisciplinary Network for COVID-19, a multisector group addressing Hispanic health during the COVID-19 Pandemic and beyond. She currently serves as a Latinx Health advisor for the NC DHHS and Secretary Cohen. She is a member of the Andrea Harris Social, Economic, Environmental, and Health Equity Task Force, and she serves in the NC DHHS Historically Marginalized Populations COVID-19 Response team, and in the Vulnerable Populations Subcommittee of the Durham’s Recovery & Renewal Task Force (RRTF).
Her work addresses clinical education, teamwork and interprofessional education, chronic disease management, women's health, addressing social determinants of health and promoting an understanding of health equity both from local and international perspectives. She joined the Duke faculty in 2006 with broad clinical experience, gained by working as a family doctor in a rural/industrial health professional shortage area in Iowa followed by being a faculty at a community hospital-based residency program. Viviana was a Community Teaching Scholar at the University of Iowa in 2004. She completed a Fellowship in Faculty Development with Emphasis in Caring for Underserved Populations at the University of Cincinnati in 2005, a Family Medicine Faculty Development Fellowship with emphasis in Cultural Competency with the Cultural Medicine Training Center in 2015; and a Teaching for Equity Fellowship at Duke in 2018.
Her leadership activities have included serving as an elected member to several Boards of Directors, including the North Carolina Academy of Family Physicians. She is Member -at- Large of the World Organization of Family Doctors (WONCA) executive and WONCA liaison to the World Health Organization. She Chaired the Health Equity Team for Family Medicine for America’s Health, she has been Faculty for the AAFP Foundation Emerging Leader Institute, and chaired the AAFP Commission on Membership and Member Services. Dr. Martinez-Bianchi has represented minority physicians to the Congress of Delegates of the American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), and has been a member of the Medicare Advisory Board to the North Carolina Office of Minority Health & Health Disparities. She has been an invited speaker to multiple organizations, especially on issues of population health, leadership, cultural competency/humility and health care for minority populations.

Dr. Zachary Lewis

Dr. Lewis is a Assistant Professor of Emergency Medicine at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences. He is a member of the departmental Division of Ultrasound and Co-Director of the Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship and Pediatric Emergency Ultrasound Fellowship. His time is spent between clinical shifts, management and quality review of the ultrasound program, and promoting point-of-care ultrasound education to anyone willing to learn.

Dr. Abel García Olivo is originally from Celaya Guanajuato. He studied a Bachelor of Surgeon at the University of Guanajuato and is a specialist in Medical Surgical Emergencies, graduated from Balbuena General Hospital in Mexico City. He studied the Master's Degree in Emergencies and Disasters in Alcalá, as well as a Diploma in Teaching, Bioethics and NLP. He currently works at the IMSS of the City of Guadalupe NL at HGZ # 4, where he is part of the bioethics committee and is an adjunct professor at the emergency residence. He also works at the Hospital Clínica Nova de San Nicolás de los Garza and is an active member of the Mexican Society of Emergency Medicine, as well as a partner of the COCHRANE Bone, Joint and Muscle Trauma group.
He is a Synodal of professional examination for graduates of the UDEM (University of Monterrey) and Synodal of the Mexican Council of Emergency Medicine. He has studies at the master's level in Education from the Technological Institute of Monterrey, is an advisor of thesis of specialty of Emergencies and Family Medicine, visiting professor at the UMF 3 Family Medicine Residency in Monterrey. He completed a training stay in the emergency service of the Hospital de la Santa Creu I Sant Pau, Barcelona, in 2013.
He is an active member of PACE MD programs participating as an instructor in the courses BLS, ACLS, PALS, ALSO, BLSO, PACE SONO Heart Saver. He is also faculty of the American Heart Association for BLS, ACLS, PALS, ALSO courses and instructor of the IAPET pediatric trauma course.
